CASUAL STUDIO ASSISTANT

We are looking for a lovely and energetic person to support us in the day-to-day operations of Willie Weston, a profit-for-purpose fabric and wallpaper brand working with First Nations artists across Australia. We are a small but growing business, and co-founders Jess and Laetitia require a capable and focused person to assist with order and sample fulfilment.  

This is a paid casual position ($36 per hour) based at our studio in North Melbourne. At this stage the position is 12 hours across two days per week (ideally Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday), but there is scope to evolve and expand the role as Willie Weston grows. To start early May 2025.

Experience working in the textile industry and an interest in First Nations art are desirable but not essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Logistics: order coordination, packaging + dispatch

  • Sample coordination: inventory management, sample cutting, fulfilment and dispatch

  • Other duties depending on experience: assistance with textile design work, website and database maintenance


KEY STRENGTHS:

  • An ability to take initiative and work independently

  • A flexible, can-do attitude

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Proficiency in Photoshop and / or Illustrator not essential but highly desirable
